Historic Preservation

The Old Webster Courthouse
In 1876, Henry Blair gifted the Daniel Webster Courthouse to the Young Ladies’ Library Association, establishing Plymouth’s first public library. In 1991, a bequest from Charlotte Pease to the YLLA funded the new Pease Public Library at One Russell Street, with the YLLA later supporting its 2011 addition.

The Old Webster Courthouse, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982, now houses the Plymouth Historical Society. YLLA remains committed to its preservation, and donations may be directed to support this work.
